August 15, 2019

Looking for cleaning products that are tough on dirt, but not the environment?  The Home Depot has a wide selection of eco-friendly cleaning options which makes for a clean home and a clean conscience.

Not sure where to start? Check out the top picks for earth-friendly cleaners:

1. Breathe’s aerosol cleaning line is made from EPA Safer Choice-approved ingredients. It’s also non-toxic, contains no ammonia or butane and is powered by air.

2. CLR earned the U.S. EPA agency’s Safer Choice seal of approval and removes tough calcium, lime deposits, as well as surface rust stains on everything from bathtubs to washing machines. It’s non-toxic, water soluble and biodegradable. Plus, the chemicals in the product come from vegetables.

3. Mrs. Meyers Clean Day soaps are made from plant-derived ingredients and essential oils. The soaps are Leaping Bunny-certified and contain no artificial colors, ammonia, chlorine bleach or parabens. The bottles also are made of at least 30% post-consumer content.

4. Greener Clean Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge (Scotch-Brite by 3M) is a sponge made from 100% plant-based fibers, half from the agave plant. The greener clean sponge outlasts 30 rolls of paper towels and is packaged in 100% recycled material.

5. Rejuvenate is a non-toxic, Greenguard-certified, no-bucket floor cleaner that is safe for hardwood floors and laminate tiles. Non-toxic and recognized as having low chemical emissions, this product is free of harsh fumes and smells.
