The Homer Fund Celebrates 20 Years Of Giving: Dee’s Story

March 28, 2019

“I lost everything.”

Dee, a Customer Order Specialist, had just moved in with her mother to take care of her when disaster struck. Floods from Hurricane Floyd caused devastating damage to their home and belongings.

When she needed it most, The Homer Fund stepped in to help her family recover.

Not only is Dee a grant recipient, she’s also donated to the Fund since its launch.

The Homer Fund is the The Home Depot’s nonprofit exclusively for associates. Established in 1999, more than 138,000 associates have received over $176 million in grants. Ninety-five percent of associates participated and/or donated to help their fellow associates in 2018. Thanks to their generosity, The Homer Fund was able to issue $1 million in grants for associates and their families affected by natural disasters last year.
