Giles Bowman

Senior Vice President and Culture Officer

Giles Bowman is senior vice president and culture officer for The Home Depot. Previously, he was senior vice president of merchandising for building materials, where he was responsible for our lumber, building materials, plumbing, electrical, lighting and millwork departments.

Giles joined the company in 1996 and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility, including merchandising vice president in the Eastern Division and Canada, and vice president of sales and service for the Southwest Division. 

With over 35 years of experience in the home improvement industry and 25 years with the company, Giles brings a deep understanding of the Home Depot culture to his new role. As a true ambassador of our Orange-blooded spirit, Giles draws on his experience to create new initiatives that promote and preserve this invaluable asset by further connecting our associates, customers and suppliers with our culture. 

Before joining The Home Depot in 1996, Giles held various merchandising positions in lumber, millwork and hardware with Lowe’s Companies for nearly 11 years.

Giles assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of The Home Depot Foundation in 2014. He also served on the Board of Directors for Northwest Metro Habitat for Humanity from 2012 through 2016.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina.
